Don't want to stray too far from the MadCatz offerings that are coming out with the game, but does anyone have any experience with the old Hori Fighting Stick EX2 for the ? The thing has no aesthetic whatsoever but the price is right as a possible alternative to the gamepads.
I got the fightpad for PS3 this weekend and so far I am really liking it. He kept working me with Cammy and Chun Li. I got the fightpad and played him again that afternoon and I had a much easier time pulling off the moves. It's really helpful to have all 6 buttons on the face and not have to worry about hitting the shoulders. The pad is really nice and responsive. I was able to pull off moves more consistently than with the PS3 controller. Also, it is less painful on the thumb.
I definitely recommend it for pad players. Ya i bought one and was pleasantly surprised The TE stick is excellent, and the pads are fine. I wanted the Fightpad so that I could use it in addition to my wireless controller for some Street Fighter tournaments when my friends were over but I soon discovered that when the Fightpad is plugged in, the wireless receiver stops working.
I attempted several ways of trying to fix it on my own, I reinstalled the drivers from the microsoft website, restarted the computer with both plugged in, and tried connecting them in a different order. The controllers worked fine on their own, but that wireless receiver just will not work with the wired fightpad plugged in.
I contacted Madcatz first for some technical support, and to their credit they responded immediately. I sent an email first, but was impatient so called almost immediately after sending an email which they also responded to and knew that I had made a call.
I spoke to someone almost immediately and they tried to help, but as of writing this article, are still unable to resolve the issue. They just pick some word they recognize in my email and send me a practically automated response. I tried calling the number for xbox support but was never able to reach a real human being as I was routed and re-routed through their automated system.
I called the microsoft number and managed to talk to a real person, and the woman from another country told me that the wired controllers and the wireless receiver are incompatible and will not work simultaneously. Then when I continued to question her about it admittedly with an angry tone , she just stopped answering me; either putting me on hold or she hung up altogether.
I have communicated both with Madcatz and Microsoft about my issue, and neither one was of any help. Madcatz was quick to respond, but in the end just blew me off saying that they tested it and it works fine. It was a waste of money and I regret the purchase. The Street Fighter franchise needs no introduction, as any self-respecting gamer has surely played one iteration or another. Today we will find out if this title is a worthy successor in the series, and how well it holds up in stereoscopic 3D.
While still basically the same title as its non-super predecessor, Capcom has managed to add enough new content to the game to make it feel fresh and give fans a reason to come back.
In total there are 35 characters, the 25 from the original and 10 new ones. However, now all the characters are unlocked from the beginning, so players are provided with a much greater choice from the start. All 12 of the original SFII cast remain, in addition to a mix of characters from other Street Fighter releases and a few new-comers as well.
With the range of characters provided, there really is something for everyone. The basic premise is simple: you pick a character and enter the fighting tournament. Included are a variety of play modes, such as arcade and versus, and you can even play online with friends or random opponents. When starting arcade mode, you are treated to a brief Japanese anime style intro, and whisked away to different locations around the world to fight. The difficulty and various options for the fights can be set at the beginning, but at default the best out of three rounds wins.
At that point the two players duke it out to see who is the best fighter. The game is played with an 8-way directional control and six attack buttons 3 kick, 3 punch. Although you can play with the keyboard, I did not find this to be very useful or fun. Fortunately, you can plug in a fully supported Xbox controller into your PC. If you have played previous Street Fighter games, then you should know what to expect.
This is a solid arcade-style fighting game, and great to play with friends or online. After a long day at work, you can wind down and beat some people up from the comfort of your computer chair. You can also play for two minutes or two hours — unlike some single-player games that require more of a committed time investment.
