Vista college el paso texas reviews

It became a hostile work environment the last 5 months I worked there. Anything that the students complained about was blamed on the teacher even if the teacher had no control over the situation. They did not assign courses until the last minute which gave the teacher zero time to prepare.

Pros Wonderful students and colleagues. Cons Management was cheap on materials and extremely unorganized. Horrible experience. Appears to have been a complete waste of time. No training heavy expectations. Job responsibilities undefined. Unprofessional management team. As a full time Instructor, expect to have little time off. Leadership makes it impossible to take a day off. The staggered hours can be exhausting as well. I enjoyed my time with the company. The management changed a lot but was mostly positive.

The school had good programs. We were able to help a lot of students find careers and successful employment. Your coworkers will be awesome for the mass majority of them, however as soon as you step that line to management it goes out the window. Im not sure if its something the company does to find the worst possible people to put into management but it is awful. Management will breath down your neck while constantly trying to get rid of you.

Pros pay if you negotiate right in the interview. Cons zero team work, teachers, admissions, financial aid, and corporate all clash constantly and its pushed down to the workers level to deal with. To be honest nothing really stands out about this company. I would say stay to your self, do not get involved in company politics. I do enjoy the students, which is the best part of the job.

I can appreciate the opportunity to teach students on all levels, helping individuals attain their goals is a reward within itself. Education is a privilege and to be an instructor for Vista is a great opportunity. Pros The personal, opportunity for growth and development. Run far away. Education Current Employee - Dallas - February 21, The turnover rate at this place speaks for itself. Corporate management is a joke. They are all incredibly inexperienced and have zero sense of reality.

If you have any other opportunities for employment, I would highly suggest choosing those opportunities over Vista College.

Cons Too many to list. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. At the time of my employment, there was several management changes. Each becoming less competent then the last. The school is numbers driven and to counteract that perception, academics and support departments are coached on what to say to students who want to withdraw.

It becomes a stressful work environment when the numbers aren't consistent. I understand that a business needs customers but it also needs ethics. Pros Built relationships. Cons Benefits, management, no advancement, no professional development. Its all about the numbers and enrollments. I saw the focus on the quantity vs quality. The students were never the focus. Do whatever needed to keep them enrolled.

I will always be thankful for my experiences teaching here! Met many great mentors who took me under their wing. The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome.

Pros The people! Sense of purpose. It's a school. As with any other school, it has gossip and mess. Go to class, do your work, turn it in, and pass. Take the test and become certified. Then go out into the world and get that job!!!!! Pros Get to meet lots of new people.

I enjoyed working with students and helping them get enrolled. Overall I didn't hate it but it wasn't my favorite. Was this review helpful? Yes No. Report Share. Overall a great place to work , fun environment. You are surrounded by nice coworkers.

Hours are great. The CEO is great! Good benefits. A safe work environment. Pros Nice people work there. Cons No cons. Vista College is a degree mill; their mission is student enrollment and their guiding principal is to enroll students into a high cost programs that has no return on investment; meaning students that graduate intoow paid professions.

End result os the stude t is now faced with paying back an education loan on minimum wage. Pros None. Cons The school itself. No formal training in the beginning. Change in management in my department in the first two months I was there and then some training, but then the whole team left, except me, because of management.

They then held an emergency meeting over zoom and told us they had a downturn in student enrollement and furloughed all admissions, financial aid, highest paid directors and only kept the emlpoyees they needed to help current students graduate with no answers about how long that would last. I eventually found a position elsewhere. Pros Helping Students. Cons Poor management, lack of communication.

Lpn student. Dont waste your time or money with this program. Curriculum and staff changes all the time. Program is disorganized and extremely stressful. Not to mention super expensive. Most students have to retake classes over which adds more cost on to your education. Not a very good program even for high achievers who still seem fail at this school. It hard to keep a good GPA do to the weird grading system. And teachers seem to not care or want to see students move on. I think this school is setup for students to fail.

Please listen to the reviews of others because they are telling the truth. Current Student. This schools LPN program is designed for students to fail. They will create loop holes as to why staff cant help the student but when it comes to the teachers they can do whatever they want to the students.

There is constant changes with how the curriculum and nursing directors. Please don't waste your time and money going to this school, The school will makeup reasons to fall students and have them retake classes over for more money.

NMSU is your best option for a quality education and better success rate in pursuing your nursing dreams. Please beware! Vista college is the worst school that can exist. Very unprofessional and they only cares about the money that you must pay them.

Please believe on all the bad reviews that you see because its going to save you. Jarie Mccaster. The business office is horrible, they do not care about the students and get an attitude when you ask questions.

Here I am after 4 years, and maintaining a 4. Now they are saying I owe them over dollars which is ridiculous. I would avoid this school at all costs.

Jason wendahl. The instructors are sub-par, the staff is insane and they come up wit new rules everyday to try to fail you at.

Don't even begin to have a life outside of school. If something happens out of school and you have to miss they will not care dock your attendance, say that they will kick you out and then on top of everything else they will dock your grade for being absent. The only reason it is easy to get into this school is because they come up with reasons to make you quit or get you out of the school and you will still owe the student loans.

I'm still under qualified for pretty much everything except retail and fast food. So I put myself in dept just to remain where I began when I started there. The only thing I would recommend to anyone looking into Vista is to do more research, and realize they should just go to an actual university.

Joshua Butler. I was told at the start of the class that the IT was going thru a book change. This was going to cause so late pay problems.
