From what I was told it can be installed on their local workstation and on the server at the same time. Since that user is licensed thru their PC they can use it on the server.
Microsoft Licenses work on a per user not a per machine. So if you have 5 users on 1 PC then technically you need 5 license. I don't believe there are any licensing issues for QB. We have the five-user edition, and Enterprise is apparently pretty commonly used in RDS scenarios.
The finance workstations are getting a bit old for it, and I figured it'd be cheaper to go this route than to buy them all new machines, especially since Quickbooks is the only thing that really hurts them. That sounds good; they're on slightly different versions now but I think I have the capacity to get them all on the same version.
You would be correct. The best part about getting stuff like this on a TS is the updates. When updates come out you now can update the 1 server instead of your original 4 or 5 workstations. Yeah, especially for Quickbooks - any update to that has to be done to each of them at once or the database won't let them work.
